Born in London to parents that traveled abroad regularly, I have had the good fortune to explore foreign shores at a very early age. Growing up in Europe afforded me the possibility to love.learn and speak French and German. In the last few years I have added Italian to that list coinciding with my ever growing interest in that country. Food has always been a pre-occupation! My family encouraged me to try new foods, but in fact, I didn't really need any encouragement. I was always in search of new and unusual flavors. On my first trip to Liguria at 11, I will never forget an epic lunch featuring antipasto misto rolled to our table on a multi-tiered cart. The selection of grilled vegetables alone, red and green peppers, purply black eggplants, zucchini, many of them glistening with olive oil stunned me. But then this was followed by spaghetti al pesto...such a vibrant green, the like of which i had never seen on a plate, and the aroma of basil and garlic, I was in heaven.
